Acetaminophen is a drug used to treat minor pain and fever. When it is combined with other active components, acetaminophen can be used to treat allergy, cough, colds, flu, and insomnia. Acetaminophen in conjunction with other analgesics is also used to treat moderate to severe pain. If taken beyond the recommended dosage, acetaminophen can cause significant liver damage.
