Staphylococcus aureus enterotoxin A sea gene [Presence] in Specimen by NAA with probe detection
Active
Part Description
LP36798-4 Staphylococcus aureus enterotoxin A sea gene
Staphylococcus aureus enterotoxins (SEs) are heat stable enterotoxins that are responsible for gastroenteritis resulting from ingestion of contaminated food. Many isolates contain multiple SEs. There are at least 5 traditional serotypes (SEA,SEB,SEC,SED, SEE), and some more recent additions (SEG,H and I). They are serologically distinct proteins, but have similar biological activity.
SEA is the most prevalent cause of food poisoning.

- Change Reason
- The PrThr property is used for LOINC terms whose results are reported using an ordered categorical scale, regardless of whether or not an internal threshold was used to make that determination. This change was approved by the Laboratory LOINC Committee in June 2016.; Removed parentheses around "sea" gene in Component based on the current LOINC model.
