LP111518-9 Human coronavirus HKU1
HCoV-HKU1 is a common cause of both upper and lower respiratory tract self-limiting infections, most frequently in young children. Without laboratory diagnosis, typically through reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) of respiratory tract samples, HCoV-HKU1 respiratory tract infections cannot be distinguished from infections cause by other respiratory viruses. Treatment is of symptoms and in-line with general guidelines for support of viral respiratory infections. PMID: 21994538

Part Descriptions
LP35708-4 Human coronavirus 229E
Human coronavirus 229E (HCoV229E) is a single-stranded, positive-sense, RNA virus species in the Alphacoronavirus genus of the subfamily Coronavirinae, in the family Coronaviridae, of the order Nidovirales. HCoV229E is associated with a range of respiratory symptoms, ranging from the common cold to high-morbidity outcomes such as pneumonia and bronchiolitis. It is also among the Coronaviruses most frequently co-detected with other respiratory viruses. PMID: 20554810

41009-2 Human coronavirus OC43 RNA [Presence] in Specimen by NAA with probe detection
Part Descriptions
LP35710-0 Human coronavirus OC43
Coronaviruses, named for the crown-like spikes on their surface, are common viruses that cause mild to moderate upper-respiratory tract illnesses of a short duration. There are four main sub-groupings of coronaviruses, known as alpha, beta, gamma, and delta. The six coronaviruses that can infect humans are: alpha coronaviruses 229E and NL63, and beta coronaviruses OC43, HKU1, SARS-CoV (the coronavirus that causes severe acute respiratory syndrome, or SARS), and MERS-CoV (Middle East Respiratory Syndrome, or MERS). Infections are common with human coronaviruses 229E, NL63, OC43, and HKU1. The exceptions are SARS-CoV and MERS-CoV. SARS-CoV (severe acute respiratory syndrome) was first recognized in China in November 2002 causing a worldwide outbreak from 2002 to 2003. Since 2004, there have no reported cases of SARS-CoV infection. MERS-CoV, first reported in Saudi Arabia in 2012, has caused illness in hundreds of people from several countries. All cases to date have been linked to countries in and near the Arabian Peninsula.

41005-0 Human coronavirus NL63 RNA [Presence] in Specimen by NAA with probe detection
Part Descriptions
LP35709-2 Human coronavirus NL63
Human coronavirus (HCoV-NL63) was first identified in 2004 in a Dutch seven-month old infant with respiratory illness, but is now present world wide. HCoV-NL63 typically infects children and the immunocommpromised, with mild upper respiratory symptoms (cough, runny nose, fever) or more actue lower respiratory tract involvement such as bronchiolitis and croup. It is cause of up to 10% of all respiratory diseases. Most commonly, reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) and other nucleic acid tests of nasopharyngeal samples are used for diagnosing coronavirus infections.
