Part Descriptions
LP172780-1 PAX8 Ag
PAX8 is a member of the paired box (PAX) family of transcription factors, which play critical roles during fetal development and cancer growth. PAX8 is a transcription factor for genes exclusively expressed the thyroid cell type, maintaining the functional differentiation of such cell. Defect in PAX8 are the cause of congenital hypothyroidism non-goitrous type 2. PAX8 is also involved in kidney cell differentiation and has been shown to be expressed in three of the most common types of renal cell carcinoma: clear cell, chromophobe and papillary carcinoma.

LP172781-9 PAX8
Paired box gene 8, also known as PAX8, is a protein which in humans is encoded by the PAX8 gene, a member of the paired box (PAX) family of transcription factors. The PAX8 nuclear protein is involved in thyroid follicular cell development and expression of thyroid-specific genes. It also functions in very early stages of kidney organogenesis. Mutations in the PAX8 gene have been associated with thyroid dysgenesis, thyroid follicular carcinomas and atypical follicular thyroid adenomas.
