Term Description
Part of the 10-digit EOD [779]. Detailed site-specific codes for anatomic EOD used by SEER for tumors diagnosed from 1988 forward. This field is included in the COC dataset, separate from EOD. Codes were revised effective January 1, 1998, to reflect changes in the AJCC Cancer Staging Manual, Fifth Edition.
Site-specific EOD codes provide extensive detail describing disease extent. The EOD codes can be grouped into different stage categories for analysis (e.g., historical summary stage categories consistent with those used in published SEER data since 1973, or more recently, AJCC stage groupings). Term Description
The 10-year breast cancer distant recurrence risk score (also referred to as ROR Score or Risk of Recurrence Score) is a numerical score on a scale of 0 -100 that is calculated using a statistical model that includes: 1) the results from a 50-gene expression assay performed on formalin fixed paraffin embedded breast tumor tissue previously diagnosed as invasive carcinoma; 2) proliferation score; and 3) gross tumor size. The calculated score and information about lymph node status are used together to classify the patient into a risk category for distant breast cancer recurrence at 10 years. This term was created for the Prosigna™ Breast Cancer Prognostic Gene Signature assay, which is intended for use in postmenopausal women with node-negative (Stage I or II) or node-positive (Stage II), hormone receptor-positive (HR+) breast cancer who have undergone surgery and are to be treated with adjuvant endocrine therapy alone.

The risk classification is an ordinal risk category (low, intermediate, high) that indicates a patient's risk of recurrence of breast cancer at 10 years. The classification is based on the 10-year risk of distant recurrence score and lymph node status. Low risk is associated with a 3% chance (confidence interval 2-6%), intermediate risk is associated with a 10% chance (confidence interval 7-14%), and high risk with a 16% chance (confidence interval 11-22%) of distant breast cancer recurrence at 10 years, respectively.
