82324-5 Knee injury and osteoarthritis outcome score for joint replacement [KOOSJR]

Term Description

The Knee Injury and Osteoarthritis Outcome Score for Joint Replacement (KOOS, JR) survey was developed from the original long version of the Knee injury and Osteoarthritis Outcome Score (KOOS) survey using Rasch analysis. It contains 7 questions from the original KOOS survey. Each question is coded from 0 to 4 where 0 equals no pain and 4 equals extreme pain. The survey is scored by summing the raw scores and then converting the total raw score to an interval score, which ranges from 0 to 100 where 0 represents total knee disability and 100 represents perfect knee health. 82226-2 Neck Disability Index [NDI]

82237-9 Total score [NDI]

Term Description

Each of the ten items on the Neck Disability Index is scored one to five for a possible total of 50. A higher score indicates a greater level of disability (0-4=none, 5-14=mild, 15-24=moderate, 25-34=severe, >35=complete). If three or more items are missing, the total score could be invalid. The total score can be multiplied by two to calculate the percentage out of 100.

Term Description

This panel should be used to report information about a patient reported outcome measure that does not already have existing specific LOINC codes assigned. The panel contains terms to report the measure name, score, and interpretation of the score. Over time, as the usage of certain measures becomes more common, they may be assigned new, specific LOINC codes, so be sure to check to make sure that specific codes do not exist before using this panel.
