The answer codes are a subset of concept codes drawn from the PHVS_Ethnicity_CDC Detailed Ethnicity value set, and should be used preferentially for reporting. This term was created for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS), and the HL7 Version 2.6 Implementation Guide: Vital Records Death Reporting, Release 1.

This item is used for reporting tabulated ethnicity detail data by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS). The tabulation process includes the elimination of duplicate entries from submitted data as well as the application of edits to ethnicity detail submitted as literal text.
