Active
Term Description
This respiratory pathogens screen identifies respiratory viral and bacterial nucleic acids from patients suspected of having respiratory tract infections. The following virus and bacteria types and subtypes may be in the screen: influenza A (H3N2), influenza A (H1N1) pdm09, influenza A (H1N1), influenza A (H5N1), influenza A (H7N9), influenza A untypable, influenza B, adenovirus , coronavirus 229E, coronavirus OC43 , coronavirus NL63, coronavirus HKU1, MERS- CoV, enterovirus or rhinovirus, human metapneumovirus , HSV-1, HSV-2, parechovirus, parainfluenza 1, parainfluenza 2, parainfluenza 3, parainfluenza 4 , respiratory syncytial virus subtype A, respiratory syncytial virus subtype B, vericella zoster virus, bordetella pertussis, bordetella holmesii, and bordetella parapertussis.

- Version 2.75
- Change Reason
- Release 2.75: SYSTEM: There are 2 similar system's in LOINC: 1- Respiratory system 2- Respiratory specimen Due to an applied logic, the display in the System axis for 1 is Respiratory (adjective) without specification of sample, specimen, or other specific noun, while 2 is displayed fully as Respiratory specimen. Therefore for now we replaced 1 with Respiratory system specimen, which will affect 83 term. The result is replacing "Respiratory" with "Respiratory system specimen". This is the short approach. The bigger project is to potentially merge data that has either 1 or 2 together. This is a project to pass by the laboratory committee and will involve about 1500 concepts.; Previous Releases: Changed "bacteria and viruses" in Component to "pathogens" for naming consistency across terms. The system was changed from 'Respiratory system' to 'Respiratory' to fit the model for Laboratory tests. The system "Respiratory System' is used for Clinical terms.
