Bordetella pertussis.pertussis toxin promoter region [Presence] in Lower respiratory specimen by NAA with probe detection
Active
Part Description
LP206591-2 Bordetella pertussis.pertussis toxin promoter region
The pertussis toxin (PT) promoter region is involved in the regulation of virulence factors for Bordetella pertussis and is a commonly used target for the DNA-based diagnosis of B. pertussis infections. PMID: 10618063 Since the PT promoter region is present in other Bordetella species, including B. parapertussis, generic primers may be used for rapid detection and differentiation of the species. PMID: 8815088
