Lactalbumin alpha
Active
Descriptions
Alpha lactalbumin and beta-lactoglobulin are the major proteins found in whey protein. Whey protein is a mixture of the proteins found in milk. Cow's milk is one of the first foreign proteins infants are exposed to and is one of the most common food allergens. IgE antibodies to alpha lactalbumin and beta lactoglobulin are found in most patients allergic to milk. Information from Medscape General Medicine 1(1),1999.
