1-Methylhistidine
Active
Description
1-Methylhistidine is an amino acid metabolite and is a component of the dietary peptide anserine. Low levels may be due to inadequate methyl group transfer and result in low histidine levels. Methyl-transferase enzymes require Vitamin B12 and folate, so deficiencies in these may lead to decreased 1-Methylhistidine and histidine levels. Source: Regenstrief Institute
