Description

Enfuvirtide (T20) is a fusion inhibitor anti-viral medication that binds to the first heptad repeat in the HIV-1gp41 coding region. Once bound, T20 prevents structural changes to the virus and keeps it from fusing with the cell membrane.(Manual of Clinical Microbiology, 11th edition, James H. Jorgensen; Karen C.
