Alpha globulins are a group of plasma proteins, belonging to the serpin superfamily, that are highly mobile in alkaline or electrically charged solutions. They inhibit certain blood proteases; examples include Alpha 1 antitrypsin, alpha 1 antichymotrypsin, and serum amyloid A.
