Oregano, comprising the species of the genus Origanum, from the Mediterranean region of Europe and Asia, is an extremely variable plant grown since ancient times for ornamental, culinary and medicinal uses.
Oregano may uncommonly induce symptoms of food allergy in sensitised individuals.
