Carbophenothion
Active
Description
Carbophenothion is a yellow-brown liquid organophosphate and cholinesterase inhibitor. It is used to treat vegetables, fruits, nuts, ornamental plants, and forestry sites for insects, mites, and ticks. It has been established that carbophenothion has a high degree of oral toxicity, but too few studies have been performed to establish toxic levels and symptoms of acute or chronic exposure, whether it's a human carcinogen, and whether it is a teratogen. Carbophenothion is extremely toxic to freshwater fish, freshwater invertebrates, and marine and estuarine organisms.[http://pmep.cce.cornell.edu/profiles/insect-mite/cadusafos-cyromazine/carbophenothion/insect-prof-carbophe.html] Source: Regenstrief LOINC
