Descriptions
An image guided exchange may be performed when a catheter or tube becomes partially or completely dislodged, or needs routine replacement to prevent tube obstruction. Exchanges are performed over a guide wire. After inserting the wire, the existing tube is removed while leaving the wire in place. A new tube is then positioned over the wire.
