Carbonic anhydrase 2 Ab
Active
Description
Carbonic anhydrase 2 (gene name CA2), is one of fourteen forms of human α carbonic anhydrases. Carbonic anhydrase catalyzes reversible hydration of carbon dioxide. Carbonic anhydrase 2 antibodies (anti-CA2 Ab) are increased in patients with autoimmune pancreatitis (AIP), and measuring anti-CA2 ab titers are useful in the differential diagnosis of AIP versus pancreatic cancer.
