Description
Simeprevir (formerly TMC435, tradenames Olysio and Sovriad) is a second generation, highly specific and potent direct antiviral agent (DAA) inhibitor of HCV NS3/4A protease, for the treatment of hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection. Simeprevir is indicated for treating chronic HCV infection as a part of a triple antiviral treatment regimen along with two other drugs, PEG-IFN and RBV. It is primary efficacious in treating HCV genotype 1 infected patients with compensated liver disease including cirrhosis. PMID: 26904396 Source: Regenstrief LOINC
