Description

Coinfections are distinct infections that are acquired through the same event. Examples of coinfections are Anaplasmosis, Babesiosis, and Lyme disease, which are all transmitted by blacklegged ticks [CDC: anaplasmosis/healthcare-providers/co-infections], and HIV and viral hepatitis B and C, which are all transmitted via direct exposure to the blood of an infected person.
