Staphylococcus aureus (SA) multiple locus variable number tandem repeat analysis (VNTR) is a molecular typing method used to assign biologically meaningful genotypes and complexes to SA. Unlike other resource intensive typing methods, MLVA is a high throughput low cost method that aids in the study of the routes and rates of SA transmission.
