ROCV belongs to the Flaviviridae family, genus Flavivirus [NCBI Taxonomy: 64315]. Like other flaviviruses ROCV is morphologic, morphogenetic, and can cross the blood brain barrier. ROCV infection presents as fever, malaise, severe headache, lower extremity weakness, and severe neurologic symptoms including encephalitis PMID: 28939977. The vectors are mosquitoes and may include Aedes scapularis and Psorophora ferox [Researchgate:318323245]. Source: Regenstrief LOINC,
