Desmethylcyclobenzaprine, or N-Desmethylcyclobenzaprine or norcyclobenzaprine, is the major urinary metabolite of cyclobenzaprine, a skeletal muscle relaxant sold under various trade names such as Amrix, Fexmid, and Flexeril. Cyclobenzaprine is used to relieve muscle spasms and associated pain from acute musculoskeletal conditions. PMID: 11434793 Quantitation of the metabolite desmethylcyclobenzaprine levels in specimens by may be performed for pain prescription monitoring, urine drug testing, and forensic analysis.
