Nitrogen dioxide [VFr/PPres] Airway adaptor --at end expiration
Active
Term Description
The IEEE 11073 Standards Committee does not distinguish between measures of gas concentration reported as partial pressure and volume percent because they can be converted from one to the other under the law of gases. To make it clear that these could be reported either way, LOINC presents the property for these terms as both a volume fraction and a partial pressure (VFr/PPres), with corresponding units of %{vol} and mm[Hg], respectively.

Part Description
LP186951-2 Nitrogen dioxide
Nitrogen dioxide (NO2) is a potentially toxic gas formed from nitrous oxide (NO) in the presence of oxygen (O2). For patients who are on a mechanical ventilator, the amount of NO2 produced in the ventilator circuit is directly proportional to the concentration of NO and O2 and inversely proportional to minute ventilation and total gas flow. NO2 monitors detect the amount of NO2 present in the circuit. PMID: 9142588
