Clem McDonald Lecture

Each LOINC Conference includes a plenary presentation led by a notable member of the health standards community. The plenary is a dedicated opportunity for all attendees to focus on this special topic without worry of missing out on other interesting presentations.

To mark the 25th anniversary of the LOINC standard, the plenary presentation was given extra prestige by being named the Clem McDonald Lecture. This honor recognizes LOINC founder and health informatics pioneer Dr. Clement J. McDonald, Jr.. Fittingly, Dr. McDonald's quarter-century presentation in 2019 marked the first of these talks.

Daniel Vreeman presents Dr. McDonald with a plaque naming the plenary presentation in his honor on June 5, 2019.
